We are seeking to recruit
 to the following positions:


Senior Psychologist
Permanent full time (74 hours per fortnight)
Initially based in Portlaoise and Portarlington, Co. Laois.



The successful candidate will provide psychology supports to families of children with disabilities attending the HSE Early Intervention Team based in Portlaoise, Co. Laois; and to families and staff supporting children with complex disabilities accessing home and centre-based respite services in Laois and Offaly.

Essential Requirements Senior Grade Psychologist:

  • Post-graduate professional qualification in clinical or educational psychology with five years experience inclusive of time spent gaining professional qualification;
  • Relevant experience working with families and children with a range of developmental disabilities;
  • Knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and follow-up support for children with autism;
  • Experience of working effectively within the context of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Full current drivers license;


Desirable Requirements Senior Grade Psychologist:

  • An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of family centred practice;
  • Experience of the Assessment of Need process (Disability Act 2005);
  • Postgraduate training or experience in applied behaviour analysis / positive behaviour support

 


Staff Grade Psychologist
Fixed Term (9 months) Maternity Leave Cover
Full time (74 hours per fortnight)
Based in Portlaoise and Portarlington Co. Laois.




The successful candidate will provide psychology supports to families of children with disabilities attending the HSE Early Intervention Team based in Portlaoise, Co. Laois; and, one day per week on the dementia team in Moore Abbey, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.
 

Essential Requirements Staff Grade Psychologist:
  • Post-graduate professional qualification in clinical or educational psychology;
  • Relevant experience working with families and children with a range of developmental disabilities;
  • Experience and relevant training in the diagnosis and follow-up support for young children with autism;
  • Experience of working effectively within the context of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Full current drivers license;


Desirable Requirements Staff Grade Psychologist:

  • An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of family centred practice;
  • Experience of the Assessment of Need process (Disability Act 2005);
  • Postgraduate training or experience in applied behaviour analysis / positive behaviour support;
  • Knowledge and experience in the screening, diagnosis and follow-up support for aging adults with intellectual disabilities at risk of dementia.
