Trainer:
Hadas Levy is a counselling psychologist. She graduated from the MSc course in TCD in 2003. Prior to completing her Masters’ degree, Hadas worked as a training specialist in a number of different private companies as well as government bodies. Hadas has expertise in training design that enhances learning through hands on participation. Since graduating, Hadas has set up a private practice first operating from a GP clinic and later on from her own practice at home. In addition, she worked in the HSE NCS, Primary Care, DCU Student Counselling Services and with a variety of Employee Assistance Programmes. She delivers soft skills workshops to private organisations in Ireland and internationally. She is currently an employee with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and is working primarily on doctors’ well-being and leadership.


Working in private practice or as a sole-trader can be rewarding, self-directed and flexible but also frustrating, lonely and may include non-standard working hours. Building a financially viable client-base might take a while but with the right skills, attitude and business know-how, psychologists in private practice can thrive. This course aims to cover practical, financial and business skills as well as provide a networking platform

This workshop is designed for those who are considering setting up a private practice and/or have been working independently for a short while and feel they could use some guidance in taking their practice to the next level

Methods of teaching and form of the event:

This workshop will be highly interactive and will require engagement and participation. Participants will work individually, in pairs and in groups. Some materials will be sent out to participants before the workshop, so they can study them beforehand. This flexible method allows to cover more material during a one-day workshop and enhance the learning experience.
Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops or tablets in order to take notes and use the internet to access relevant websites.
No previous experience is required.
